UH Women’s Walk Club Celebrates 2 Years of Wellness and Connection

Women’s Walk Club (UHWWC or UHWW) is gearing up for summer and we’re looking forward to a robust lineup of neighborhood adventures. Did you know this summer will mark our two-year anniversary?

What started as a seed of an idea has grown into a vibrant and active club of almost 300 members! At these numbers, we’re not just about movement, we ARE a movement.

UHWW’s mission is to create a vibrant and inclusive community where women of all backgrounds come together to prioritize wellness, connection, and empowerment. Through our walks and events, we promote physical health, emotional well-being, and authentic relationships. We believe in fostering a safe, supportive space where strangers become friends and friendships thrive. Our events are open to women of all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ members.

While we do get our steps in as a walking club, we also host and facilitate a wide variety of other activities. Our members have myriad ways to foster connections, often finding it among women who enjoy similar hobbies.

Some of our recent events included an evening stroll led by Zoe, and a poetry reading at UH Library guided by Peggy. Rachael led yoga via full moon and new moon circles. Jill hosted a delicious party at her home, making gourmet pizzas for guests. Ashlee led our fun Brews & Babes walk. And the neighborhood dog parades continue courtesy of our pack walks. Megan and her dog, Ruthie, led an especially successful, meaning peaceful, walk. Our Activistas Volunteers led by Emilie have been engaged in local advocacy - thank you! The cooking club, organized by Courtney, continues to heat up. Our crafting club and book club have been super active too.

If you’re interested in joining us, please check out our event calendar on Instagram at @UniversityHeightsWomensWalk or on our website at UHWWC.org. Please note, at times our web address isn’t working. If someone has connections at Google, let us know; we need DNS A record help….

We regularly post events in our main WhatsApp chat group too. (WhatsApp is a free application you can download to your phone and/or computer.) Members may request addition by direct messaging us on Instagram. We have a wide breadth of WhatsApp subchannels to discuss and plan various meetups for camping, parenting, work from home, trivia, running, hiking, rock climbing, dancing, and more.

We hope to see you at an event soon!
