The UHCA Beautification Teams are dedicated to keeping our neighborhood looking its best—one planter, trashbag, paintbrush, and project at a time. These teams of passionate, hardworking volunteers, led by Danny Llamas, focus on enhancing public spaces through gardening, clean-up days, art installations, and more.

You can join the Beautification Team as a whole or sign up for a specific subcommittee based on your interests — see our subcommittee list below. Every bit of help makes a big impact!

How You Can Get Involved

UH is known as a community that helps our seniors and others in need.

Do you have a neighbor that could use a little help in their yard? Are you in need of an extra hand? Nominate yourself or your neighbor for an upcoming clean up event! Together, we can make a difference!

On the corner of Park and Madison, along the Birney Elementary field, Frank Santana and a team of volunteers have dedicated a corner of UH to the revitalization of native plants. Get involved by joining in the monthly work days. Find the next one on the events calendar.

Trash Talkers

For over a decade, a small team of neighbors have been picking up trash along the 163 highway entrance on a weekly basis. They have literally picked up TONS of trash! This dedication has made a huge impact on keeping our neighborhood cleaner. Reach out to join this team.

Trash Angels

These true angels help keep our Vermont Street pedestrian bridge clean. Each week, a Trash Angel cleans the bridge and empties the trash. Reach out to volunteer for this team.
