UH Women’s Walk Club Expands Subgroups and Events

The University Heights Women’s Walk Club (UHWWC) has had a wonderful summer, and we’re looking forward to more fun events this fall. There’s so much going on in this group, it can be hard to keep up! Never fear though because we have options. If our WhatsApp chat group is a bit too much, you can also find us on Instagram at @UniversityHeightsWomensWalk or on our website at www.UHWWC.org.

If you’re new to the area or have been meaning to check us out, please don’t be shy. Come to an event. We promise other ladies probably won’t know anyone either, and we’re a welcoming bunch. We offer community and connection.

Please check out all our WhatsApp subchat groups too. Some of our most popular ones are “Hiking,” “Camping Gals,” “Crafty Queens,” “Cooking Club,” and “Trivia Meetups.” We recently added two new subgroups in an effort to be more inclusive and provide safer spaces. Be sure to check out “Out & About” for our LGBTQIA+ members, and “40+ Babes” for our more mature ladies of a certain age. If you’re looking to get more involved in advocacy, please join our “Activista Volunteers” group. And if you feel like you’re missing out on the chats but still don’t want to join, we recommend making a friend in the group who will relay all the best and most important info.

We regularly hear how much our members love meeting up for crafting or book talk in Trolley Barn Park. We are extremely lucky to have such a wonderful space to gather. Another favorite is our evening wellness walks around University Heights. What better way to transition away from work and back into the more personal, meaningful moments of life. Walk to get ice cream? Yes please! A dog pack walk to work on training? Hell yeah. We even did a caminamos en español recently to practice our language skills.

One of the best aspects of UHWWC is that we’re a self-governed democracy. If there’s a walk you have in mind or a place you’d like to visit, all you gotta do is ask and we will do our best to make it happen. The Leadership Team is always eager for your feedback. Members can provide it anonymously via this Google form: bit.ly/4gkzg9n. Be sure to include your name and contact info, if you’d like a response.

We hope to see you on a walk soon!
