UH Garden Club Hosts Seed Starting Workshop
The University Heights Garden Club hosted a Seed Starting 101 workshop at the University Heights Library on Saturday, August 16 featuring Bryce Sims of National City Seed Library as the guest speaker. Twenty-five folks attended the seminar and learned the tips and tricks of how to successfully start seeds such as peas, beans, garlic, potatoes, lettuce, flowers, pumpkins, and squash. Bryce shared about the importance of keeping seeds moist to encourage germination, as well as applying heat to pepper and onion seeds. The UH Garden Club will be hosting its next event the second weekend in October, a Pickling Party! Keep an eye on our social media and website to learn when registration opens up.
