New Historical Marker Honors Old Trolley Barn Site

On April 16, the newest historical marker in UH was installed at Old Trolley Barn Park by the University Heights Historical Society.

The marker commemorates the history of the 60,000 square foot Adams Avenue Carbarn built in 1913 by the San Diego Electric Railway to house and maintain its electric streetcars. The marker was made possible by a grant from the County of San Diego and by donations from generous supporters. It was done in partnership with the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department, the University Heights Community Development Corporation, and the University Heights Park Recreation and Open Space Advisory Group. Watch for additional details in the June.
