November Events at UH Branch Library

Brrr, with November bringing us cooler weather we hope to see you at your friendly neighborhood library to find your next cozy read! We have a lot of fun stuff for the whole family coming up. We’re also an official mail ballot drop-off location until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4—have your voice heard.

For our grown-ups, we are once again working with the Healthy Adventures Foundation serving up fall soups on Saturday, November 1, and hosting our Maker Monday Crafts for Adults on Monday, November 3.

Families will be pleased that the City Ballet returns to host another Book and a Ballerina event on Friday, November 14. The following day, Discover U will be presenting on Piñata Science. All these events take place at 10 a.m. in our Children’s Area. Our ace Youth Services Librarian, Susan Alden, will be working with the Museum of Contemporary Art for ArtQuest Quarterly on Thursday, November 20. The next day, Susan is presenting a coil pots craft activity in honor of Native American Heritage Month. These events are tailored for older kids in third grade and up. For kids aged 4-12, be sure to snag your reading logs and prizes for the In-n-Out Cover to Cover reading program which ends on November 15.

With many thanks to our Friends of the UH Library, we continue to have Miss Jennifer Duncan’s weekly Pajama Signing Storytime every Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Also happening weekly is Let’s Play, Thursdays! Bring your kids to the library every Thursday morning at 10 a.m. for a variety of playful activities: storytime, crafts, dancing, songs, and most of all FUN! Every third Thursday, Write Out Loud will be presenting a Kamishibai (Japanese paper theater) storytime.

All city libraries will be CLOSED on Tuesday, November 11, for Veterans Day and Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Please visit our events calendar at www.sandiego.librarymarket.com for specific times and to find more library happenings here and around the city.
