Friends of UH Library November Update
We’re excited to share some news. Our amazing new Secretary, Abi, has left the Friends of University Heights Library (FOUHL) to pursue a new job opportunity in Oregon. We’re so grateful for Abi’s short but incredible time with the Friends and wish her all the best in her new adventure!
Consequently, the FOUHL is once again seeking a Secretary. As Secretary, your primary responsibility will be to diligently take notes during our monthly meetings. In addition to meetings, you may be requested to attend library and other community events, whenever feasible. Above all, we would be delighted to have an individual who harbors a profound passion for libraries and literacy, and is excited to brainstorm new and improved ways to engage our community in supporting UHL!
Interested in learning more? Reach out to me at hannahells479@gmail.com, or DM our Instagram account @friendsoftheuhlibrary. November’s Friends of the San Diego Public Library Book Sale will be Saturday, Nov. 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 16 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. If you’ve never been to one of these book sales, you have to check it out. There are rows and rows of not only books from every genre, but also bags, movies, clothes, and other treasures for you to peruse. The best part? Most books are just $1! But the actual best part? ALL proceeds benefit San Diego Public Libraries!
Speaking of benefiting public libraries…you can join the Friends of University Heights Library for only $10 annually! All membership dues and donations go directly toward funding programs, events, and resources that enrich our local library and, by extension, our community. It’s a small contribution that helps keep big ideas growing.
