Celebrating our UHCA Volunteers: Highlights from the UHCA Appreciation Event

In June, the UHCA hosted an event at Kairoa to celebrate the incredible contributions of our volunteers. These UH neighbors participate in community clean-ups, trash pick-ups, native garden planting, hosting events, writing and delivering our UH newspaper, advocating with the city, and more. Currently, we have over 130 volunteers who provide hundreds of hours of service every month.

Thank you to all our volunteers for your time, effort, creativity, and passion! University Heights is truly a better place because of you.

Our Volunteer Mixer was a ton of fun! A huge thank you to the 17 local businesses who donated gift cards and items, which were raffled off to the volunteers who attended. We feasted on delicious food and drinks provided by Kairoa, connected with old friends, met new ones, and played some delightfully silly games.

In these uncertain times, it is a true comfort to be a part of something so simple and nourishing as getting to know your neighbors. We will continue striving to make the UHCA a welcoming and valuable place to volunteer your time and energy.
