UHCA Community Appreciation Awards and Cookie Exchange Celebrate Volunteers

Hannah Ells, Rachel Esguerra, and Pam Isaacs

The November general meeting was a fun one—we love any opportunity to celebrate our hardworking volunteers and community members who do so much to keep University Heights a great place to live, work, and play!

The meeting kicked off at 6:45 p.m. with a quick update from the board, including announcements about all the exciting upcoming events. We then welcomed Gabby from the San Diego Mojo, San Diego’s professional women’s volleyball team. She shared information about the team and their season schedule—and even raffled off tickets to an upcoming game. The rest of the evening was spent honoring our dedicated volunteers and Plume Award recipients with gifts generously donated by local University Heights businesses, including Good Omen, Parkhouse Eatery, Kairoa, Liber8 Fitness, El Zarape, Mystic Mocha, Pop Pie, Yipao, Prospera, and more.

As a sweet bonus, attendees enjoyed plenty of delicious cookies—some baked and brought by neighbors, others purchased by UHCA, and a few donated by & Everything Nice, a new bakery in Kensington.
