UH Community Gears Up for Annual Garage Sale and E-Waste Drive
It’s almost time for the annual community wide neighborhood garage sale in University Heights! We will be hosting it this year on Saturday, June 7th from 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM. 50+ neighbors will be hosting garage sales at their homes all around UH with some special stops added. Grab your digital map from the UHCA website or UHCA social media, or grab a printed map available at Birney Elementary’s parking lot (see location below).
This year, we will be hosting an e-waste recycling and paper shredding component to this event from 9am – 3pm at Birney Elementary! Visit Birney Elementary School’s parking lot on Campus Avenue to recycle anything that plugs in for free, plus some other types of e-waste items for a small fee (see list in the ad below). Paper shredding will be $5/bankers box.
At Birney Elementary, we will also be hosting garage sale stalls for folks who live in apartments or don’t otherwise have front lawns who would like to participate. Stalls will be in the school’s parking lot on the Campus Ave side. Stop by to shop 10+ sales!
In addition to the 50+ garage sales who will be setting up stops around UH during this event, we will have several special guests at the Birney site or setting up stops around UH:
University Heights Garden Club will be hosting a Farmstand, selling eggs, flower bouquets, garden grown produce, herbs, seeds, seedlings, sourdough, and plants at Birney
University Heights Library will be taking gently used book donations at their location
UHCA will be accepting paint bucket donation for the neighborhood power box beautification mural project at Birney
University Heights Native Plants Initiative will be selling native seeds and plants at Birney
Art Form will be accepting art supplies & craft donations at their location
Diversionary Theatre will be selling costumes and theatre props from prior performances at their location
UH Senior Center will be selling wheelchairs, walkers, and other senior items at their location
