April UHCA Meeting Recap: Public Safety, Brucker Site Updates, and Library News
This month’s meeting was jam packed with information!
Officer Tiffany Adamek started off with Crime Watch, sharing the 30-day update on reported crimes in UH and reporting that the top two crimes were against property and society, each with 15. She encouraged everyone who experiences or witnesses a crime to call 9-1-1 or report it online.
Marc Johnson, Kristin Harms, and Bill Ellig provided a very comprehensive history of the current status of the Ed Center (aka the Brucker site), and encouraged everyone to complete the survey on the development plan at www.uhsd.org/edcenter and attend the upcoming meeting at Birney Elementary on April 28. More information in this issue of the UH News.
Updates were provided by Randy Reyes from the Mayor’s office; Christina Gaffney from Councilmember Whitburn’s office; Rachel Esguerra with the UH Library and Pam Isaacs with Friends of the Library.
Our speaker for the evening was Officer Adamek who provided insights on the prioritization of calls to SDPD, along with vehicle habitation and homelessness issues. Officer Adamek will continue to work with the UH Zone Watch Coordinators and maintain availability for Crime Watch before our monthly meetings.
