Be the UPGRADE of Someone’s Day: Yasileth Talavera

By Dr. Jeremy Gaynier

It’s a good feeling when someone remembers you. It’s an even better feeling when they remember your name.

This month, someone wrote in to nominate Yasileth Talavera (Yami) from the University Heights branch of California Coast Credit Union for doing exactly that.

While a friendly greeting may be part of good customer service, Yami takes it a step further. She gets to know the people who walk through the doors, remembers their names, and greets them personally when they return. She remembers the little details, whether helping with a personal account or assisting with local community business.

It may sound simple, but those small interactions say something much bigger: you’re not just an account number, you’re part of a community.

In a world where so much of our day has become automated, online, and impersonal, genuine human connection can stand out more than ever. Remembering someone’s name. Paying attention to the details. Taking an extra moment to make someone feel welcome.

Those things cost nothing, yet they can completely change someone’s experience.

Yami may simply see it as doing her job well, but someone in our community noticed and thought she deserved to be recognized. Cleo Robinson, Branch Manager at the UH branch of Cal Coast, told us, “Yami is an exceptional employee with Cal Coast and is a pivotal part of our UH team. She has been with us for a year, celebrating her one-year anniversary this month.”

For the care she brings to everyday interactions, Yasileth is this month’s UPGRADE recipient and will receive a complimentary new patient exam and treatment at UPGRADE Chiropractic.

Know someone making our community a little better? Nominate them for a future UPGRADE. Sometimes the smallest gestures leave the biggest impression.
